Madden is FINALLY here!
I can FINALLY update my blog!! I'm so happy! My computer was giving me guff when I would try and add pics. So now I can show everyone our little guy Madden! He is the most precious
thing in the world, I feel so lucky to have him in my life, I just love him so much I can't even tell you. I guess I will start with his birth story, it feels so long ago now........ My due date was April 10th, and of course I was late and we scheduled to be induced on the Friday the 17th. I was so nervous about giving birth as this was my first time, you just don't know what to expect! So I actually went into labor early that Friday morn before we were to go in. So I just dealt with the cramps and pain for a few hours and we went to the hospital at about 8 am. I got all hooked up to the machines and they put me on pitocin to get things moving along. At about 10, I was ready for the epidural! I give props to the women who can do this naturally! I am the world's biggest wuss, me and pain do not work well together! So the epidural was awesome, I could finally relax, it was a lil painful going in but once it was in, it was bliss! So me and Riley were just waiting around for me to get fully dilated, & I think I was finally there at about 5ish. So I started pushing for about 30 minutes, and they could see that he was turned sideways, so we stopped and they had me lay on my side for awhile to see if he would roll into the right position. So after awhile they had me start pushing again for like another 30 minutes and still he didn't want to come out and then I pushed again later and still nothing. Meanwhile I start running a 105 degree fever and his little heart rate was dropping so the doctor wants me to start thinking about having a C-section to get him out. I really didn't want to have a C-section! Especially since I had already done so much pushing and we were starting to get a little progress. But Madden's health was definitely more important! So my dad, Tanya & Belva were there now and everyone reassured me it's for the best, I just remember crying and we were just so worried about our little boy. So they rushed me in to do the C-section, I got more drugged up, and let me tell you that was the weirdest experience of my life feeling them pulling and tugging at my body, and it did hurt a little bit, I remember I kinda felt like I was going to throw up. I remember the doctors down there working and they were just talking about their kids soccer game and stuff, while I'm lying there just so upset with everything! So a few minutes later at about 9:45 pm Madden was born, and they rushed him out to clean him off, and they quickly showed him to me and I gave him a kiss on the cheek, but I was so delirious from drugs, pain and crazy emotions, I didn't get a good look at him. They quickly rushed him to the NICU because of the fever, he also swallowed some of his bowel movement while he was still inside me so he wasn't breathing very good. I was in the recovery room for what felt like forever and Riley was taking Dad, Tanya & Belva up to NICU to see him, then Si, Garrett, Taleesa, and Trent were able to go see him, all while I was laid up in recovery. I was so mad I had to be in there while everyone could go see my baby and I couldn't. I so wanted to see him and make sure he was okay! They rolled me up to my room and think it was like midnight or 1 am, and I was so seriously exhausted from a full day of labor and so tired from crying and all the emotions we went through that I finally just passed out. And first thing the next morning, Riley took me down to see our son, I was so excited to see him but a lil nervous, I didn't want to see him strapped up to all the tubes and wires. The first time I saw him I couldn't believe how freakin cute he was!! They let me hold him for the first time and I just instantly fell in love with him! I couldn't believe he was finally here and that I was finally a mommy! They kept him in the NICU for three days, each day he got stronger and stronger and we finally were able to bring him home on Monday night. He has been such a good baby and he is completely healthy now, he is growing up so fast, he is now 19 weeks old! We love our Madden!!!!
